From the 4th to the 7th of February 2019, students and supervisors of the International Research Training Group (IRTG 2251) met at King’s College London for the second annual retreat. The IRTG students had the opportunity to present their project’s progress and gather valuable input and feedback from the PIs and fellow PhD/MD students. Moreover, a selection of distinguished experts, including Professor Anne Grapin-Botton (Director of the MPI-CBG Dresden) and Professor Matthias Hebrok (Director of the Diabetes Center at UCSF) contributed to the programme with scientific talks. The students highly appreciated insights and discussions on career pathways. A number of interactive skills seminars and workshops further enhanced the four-day-programme of this year’s retreat.
