The TU Dresden University of Technology recently had the honor of welcoming Professor Bashir M. Al-Hashimi, Vice President for Research and Innovation at King’s College London. Bashir Al-Hashimi visited the university in his role as a preliminary expert for TUD’s internal review process of the University of Excellence, a status that TUD has since 2019.
During his stay at TUD, Bashir Al-Hashimi met with several senior university representatives, including Professor Ursula M. Staudinger, Rector of TUD, and Professor Stefan R. Bornstein, Dean of the transCampus. These meetings provided a platform for in-depth discussions about the future of research and innovation at both institutions.
Known for his extensive experience and commitment to research and innovation, Professor Al-Hashimi’s expertise is particularly valuable to TUD as it continues to develop its own strategic direction in research and seeks to promote interdisciplinary collaboration. TUD as a University of Excellence aims to enhance its research quality and innovative capacity. The visit of Professor Al-Hashimi as a preliminary examiner is a significant step in this process, as he can offer valuable insights and expert knowledge into the evaluation and further development of the initiative.
