The International Research Training Group (IRTG) 2251, working on Immunological and Cellular Strategies in Metabolic Disease, has already entered its sixth year. During this time, we have seen the student numbers grow to a staggering 54.
In 2021, the IRTG has not only celebrated the renewal of the funding by the German Research Foundation (DFG), but has also seen a total of 12 students wrap up their PhDs and 4 MD students finishing their doctoral thesis. Out of the graduates, four passed with highest honours, and six among them received the King’s/TU Dresden joint PhD.
Furthermore, IRTG students have published a total of 32 papers in 2021, speaking to the success of the research within the program.
We look forward to the new discoveries made by current and future IRTG students, and hope to see them succeed in their endeavours.
