Francesco Rubino is a world-renowned expert in metabolic surgery and holds the Chair of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery at King’s College London. His work has been essential in establishing metabolic surgery as a new treatment option in the management of Type 2 Diabetes. The Economist now published a video that features the metabolic surgery service in London and narrates the story of one of Professor Rubino’s patients. The video explains the clinical benefits of metabolic surgery as well as the research implications and how surgery may help the search of a cure of diabetes. F. Rubino co-supervises two student projects in the IRTG 2251: ICSMD, a joint PhD student programme of King’s College London and TU Dresden.
